Coping up with a life-limiting illness like cancer or an end-stage medical condition can be a challenge most of the time. Bangalore Baptist Hospital comes to your aid with wholistic interdisciplinary care to help you “add life to days”. Besides having an outpatient clinic and providing palliative care in the inpatient setting, we provide palliative services at home. The home care team consists of doctors, counsellors and nurses and is available five days a week to help patients and their families cope with the illness and its impact. The staff ensures that patient symptoms are managed efficiently, and the family is empowered adequately to keep the loved one comfortable until the end. Five multidisciplinary teams are available for home care, one serving the Bangalore urban area (within 20 kms. radius of Bangalore Baptist Hospital) and the other four serving the villages in Devanahalli, Doddaballapur, Nelamangala and Hoskote Taluks in Bangalore Rural district (North). We offer a 24-hour helpline for telephonic advice for emergency situations for enrolled patients. Along with Mercy Drops (the non-profit community resource centre in the hospital premises), we assist families to arrange for equipment like wheelchair, commode and walker. The team also offers support during bereavement.
